Ubi gadong adalah salah satu makanan nostalgia di kampung kami. Masa zaman persekolahan dulu, kami bergotong royong mengopek dan membersihkan ubi gadong. Selepas diperam (direndam dalam air yang banyak dan mengalir) beberapa hari, ubi gadong akan dimasak bersama pulut. Selepas itu digaulkan dengan kelapa muda yang telah diparut dan digaul bersama gula dan garam. Boleh juga digantikan dengan gula melaka. Sedap.
Ubi Gadong is one of nostalgia food in our village. Long time ago (our childhood memory), we cooperate ubi Gadong peeling and cleaning. After fermented (soaked in water and drained) in a few days, Ubi Gadong and glutinous rice are cooked together. After that, we mix it with the grated coconut (mixed with sugar and salt). Can also be replaced with sugar. Eat it. Tasty.
Ubi gadong yang telah diperam ni sedikit berbau. So pastikan dibasuh bersih sebelum dikukus atau dimasak bersama pulut.

Ubi gadong atau nama saintifiknya Dioscorea spp, termasuk dalam spesies Dioscorea hispida, Dioscorea piscatorum dan Dioscorea alata yang mempunyai perbezaan dari rupa bentuk fizikal dan juga kimia antara satu sama lain.
